UNDER HOOD OPERATION

Check fluid level- tandem brake master cylinder .

UNDER VEIDCLE OPERATION

*Change engine oil (maximum time period - 4 months)

*Change engine oil filter

Check oil level - Manual transmission

-Rear axle

*Check for fuel, water, exhaust or oil leaks

Lubricate - Hand brake cable connections and guide surfaces

- Gearshift linkages

- Torsion bar anchors

- Front suspension ball joints ....

Disassemble, clean and repack clutch torque shaft, adjust free play

Check and adjust clutch release lever free play

Automatic Transmission - Torqueflite

Remove oil pan and clean, replace Dacron filter, adjust reverse and kick­

down bands. Refit oil pan, adjust control linkage, refill transmission

Automatic Transmission - Borg Warner Model 35

Remove oil pan and clean. Adjust kickdown band, refit oil pan, refill trans­

mission. Adjust reverse band and transmission control cable

SUSPENSION, STEERING AND BRAKES

Check seal and ball joint condition, steering and suspension ball joints

(Refer Group 2 for ball joint clearances) .

Remove front wheel bearing dust cap, check bearing free play (re-adjust if

necessary) and for presence of grease

Clean and re-pack front wheel bearings (or at disc re-surface/major brake

overhaul -:' whichever comes first) ...

Check tyres for abnormal wear patterns and! or damage (report to owner) Check and adjust (if necessary), front wheel alignment. Aim headlamps

Inspect hydraulic brake hoses for wear, cracking or other deterioration Remove dust from brake drums/ discs, inspect linings and pads for wear (more

frequent where driving conditions warrant)

Check disc brake pads for wear

Adjust handbrake .. ~. ..

Check and adjust rear service brakes (Taxi Pack models with option B11) Drain and flush brake fluid. Refill with "Chrysler" Heavy Duty brake fluid

BODY OPERATIONS
